You will meet with a BigforkWEB project manager to discuss your goals, objectives and needs in a website. We use this meeting to learn more about your company, your target audience and discuss keywords and phrases to use through-out the development of your site.

It would be helpful for you to bring the following to your meeting:

  • business plan/mission statement
  • any examples of your brand through already made brochures or flyers
  • examples of websites that you like and why
  • a list of keywords and phrases that you know your clients will be searching for(we offer these services if needed)
  • ftp connection info for your current hosting company unless you would prefer to host with us

BigforkWEB will then create a structured outline of your site using wire frames. Our information architecture process outlines the most sensible way to display your information for visitor usability.

Once the site structure is decided, your site will be sent to the designer that the project manager believes will best capture the look and feel your company is wanting. You will receive a link to what are called "proof" pages which are static template designs that represent what your website will look like. From there you may request tweaks or changes to the basic design.

After a template design has been chosen and approved, it will be given to a web developer to turn from a static design to a functioning website.

We will need page content at this time.

Once developed, your site will be thoroughly tested. We check every site in the top 3 browsers: Internet Explorer (6 and 7), Firefox and Safari. We check that the code validates according to W3C web standards and make sure there are no bugs in any database work or module installments.

Once everything checks out, and we have your final approval we move your site live.

Once the site is live, we again do more testing and watch for any feedback that may need our attention. It is important that a website stays maintained. Both users and search engines like updated content, so it is important to keep text and graphics fresh and give users a reason to keep coming back.
